Requirements: Students must pass a Background Screening and are subject to Fingerprinting.
Course Overview
Program Description:
This program's mission is to meet the needs of the child care profession by preparing students as qualified teachers of young children. Skills are obtained through classroom instruction, activities, and through on-site training. Students completing the program will receive First Aid and CPR certification training, nutrition education certification, a daycare training certificate and the CDA--Child Development Associate- along with a program graduation diploma. The program's mission is to meet the needs of the child care profession by preparing students as qualified child development professionals.
Supervised work experience is an integral part of this program. Students will work with center-based programs serving children ages three-five. Skills are obtained through classroom instruction and activities. Students completing the program will receive infant and child First Aid and CPR certification, nutrition education certification, [20 hours plus 3/10 hour Daycare training certificates,] CDA (Child Development Associate), and a diploma.
