This course covers working safely with electricity, electrical theory, electrical terms, AC and DC circuits, Ohm’s Law Basic Components of an electrical circuit, and basic electrical test equipment. Participants will be given a chance to work hands-on by building and testing an electrical circuit.

This course covers the use and maintenance of the various drive systems used in industry. Every piece of equipment that moves uses some type of drive system (i.e. bearings, clutches, brakes, v-belts, sprockets, gears, chains, etc.).

This course covers the various pneumatic components used in industry and the maintenance required to keep them operating efficiently. An introduction to reading pneumatic diagrams is also given.

This course covers the components of a hydraulic system and the maintenance required for keeping the system running smoothly. Hydraulic diagram reading is also covered.

The Electrician Helper will identify safe working conditions at the laboratory and workplace; observe safety precautions; demonstrate an understanding of basic direct-current electrical-circuit skills; demonstrate appropriate communication skills; apply electricity-related math; demonstrate an understanding of basic electricity; demonstrate employability skills; read and interpret basic electric codes; demonstrates an understanding of entrepreneurship; and demonstrates positive customer-relations skills.
